Durham & Teesside Group of Endurance G.B. Group History

​

Durham & Teesside Group of Endurance G.B. began it's life as Northumberland & Durham Group of The Endurance Horse and Pony Society of Great Britain (EHPS) which was formed in 1985. In 2001 they split.

​

Northumberland & Tyneside and Durham & Teesside Groups were both formed in 2002. These were followed by the formation of Cumbria Group, then North & East Yorkshire Group.

​

The first Durham & Teesside AGM was held at Beamish. It was apparently a very quiet evening as not much had happened due to the 2001 Foot & Mouth outbreak and restrictions regarding movement of livestock were still in place.

​

The Group has had a number of Chairs, John Jamieson, Andrea Wastell, Jane Evans (twice), Nick Brown, Sue Gamble and Michael Evans.

​

It appears that as a group we are now 21 years old.

​
