Tanfield Ride 2022
Sunday 6th March
The venue for this ride was originally on land opposite the Tanfield Railway. Some years ago the
venue moved to Watergate Forest Park but the Tanfield name remained.
The main car park, the venue, is located on the Whickham Highway, B6317. From here, riders follow a
track through the park, cross the A692 at the Pegasus Crossing onto the Tanfield Railway Path which
leads to the Tanfield Railway. We then join the Bowes Railway Path to CP2 where the routes diverge.
All riders return via the park.
Lead rein only remain within the park and follow the park's bridleways.
Strictly No Cantering in the Park. Please take care and walk past walkers and cyclists. Please
remember, not everyone likes or understands horses.
